Canadian Mountie admits on-duty sex

VICTORIA, British Columbia (UPI) -- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia is seeking to dismiss an officer who admits to having had sex at least 15 times while on duty.
Constable Trent Richards is in the midst of a disciplinary hearing this week on Vancouver Island, where RCMP lawyer Tim Nixon told three officers adjudicating it was "a case that is over the line and warrants dismissal," the Victoria Times-Colonist reported.
Richards, 34, doesn't deny the allegations, but is fighting dismissal. He offered a tearful apology to his detachment co-workers and supervisors, and said he was undergoing counseling and wouldn't repeat his actions, the report said.
However, Nixon said even after Richards was notified he was the center of a conduct investigation, he continued to have on-duty sex as recently as 2006.
Records indicate at least four women were involved, attracted by Richards' profile on various Internet dating sites he visited using police computers, Nixon said.
A ruling is expected later this week, the report said.
